1 More than 5000 cyclists participate in 5th Orange Bike Day

The Embassy of the Netherlands in Egypt organized the 5th Orange Bike Day on 18 November. More than 5000 cyclists participated in this year’s edition, which sought to raise awareness for the importance of sustainability and sustainable business. Orange Bike Day 2016 was organized with the support of Egypt’s Global Biking Initiative, and used the slogan: Orange is the new Green.

2 Consular section closed 27-29 December 2016

Dear customer, The consular section will be closed on 27, 28 and 29 December. Documents and passports can be collected on these three days between 08.00-09.00.

3 Embassy closed 10 November

The Embassy (including the consular section) is closed on Thursday 10 November. The Embassy will be open again on Sunday 13 November as normal.

4 Orange Bike Day 2016

On Friday 18 November 2016, the Embassy of the Netherlands in Egypt will organize the 5th annual Orange Bike Day. This year’s event focuses on sustainability and sustainable business, and goes with the slogan: Orange is the new Green.

5 Response Dutch PM Rutte on first results criminal investigation MH17

This morning the families of the victims of the MH17 disaster were briefed by the Joint Investigation Team on the initial findings of the criminal investigation into the downing of flight MH17. These findings concern the weapon used to down flight MH17, the location from which it was fired and the Buk missile system’s route of transport.

Egyptian-Lebanese graphic designer, artist and educator Bahia Shehab is among this year's six laureates of Prince Claus Awards. The 2016 Principal Prince Claus Laureate is Thai filmmaker and artist Apichatpong Weerasethakul.

Public voting for the 2016 Human Rights Tulip has begun. Voting ends on Wednesday September 7. Anyone wishing to vote can go to www.humanrightstulip.nl and choose which of the 10 nominees they believe deserves the prize the most.
