The Embassy supports a number of activities in the Cultural Field from the Local Cultural Fund (LCF).

The Local Cultural Fund of the Netherlands Embassy exists since 1996 and aims at strengthening cultural self-awareness and preserving art treasures and modes of cultural expression.

The LCF supports projects in both the private and the public sector. Cooperation as well as joint financing with other (foreign) partners is a possibility.

Criteria: The most important aspect for funding is that project proposals must be designed in such a way in order to meet the existing demands and needs in Egypt and must be formulated by an Egyptian organisation. Projects have to contribute to the social and cultural development of the community, must be feasible and potentially effective and have a sound financial basis.
