Consular StatementsStatement of ‘being alive’
A statement of being alive may be needed by official (government) institutions, pension funds or insurance companies etc. Please note that applicants need to appear IN PERSON at the Netherlands Embassy in Cairo. Chancery fees will be charged.
What to submit?
- Valid identification document
- Proof of purpose for which the statement is required (for example the original letter of the SVB)
- Statement by Egyptian Authorities confirming present address (from the police station or the Shahr’Iqari). This statement will have to be legalized by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and translated by a certified translator
Statement of Residence
A statement of residence may be required when applying for drivers license application, car registration, tax correspondence, social securities etc.
Please note that applicants need to appear IN PERSON at the Netherlands Embassy in Cairo.
Chancery fees will be charged.
What to submit?
- Statement of "deregistration" of the last place of residence in the Netherlands
- Proof of legal residence in Egypt (visa / residence visa)
- Valid Dutch passport
Statement for school admission
Schools in Egypt may ask for a statement of the Netherlands Embassy, approving enrollment of Dutch students. Please note that the embassy does NOT issue a personalized letter for this purpose.
A (standard) letter, stating that the Embassy does not issue this statement will be issued, free of charge.
Visa request Dutch passport holders with other Embassies
When applying for a visa, certain foreign embassies may ask for a letter from the Embassy that concerned person is indeed in the possession of the Dutch nationality. Please note that the Embassy does NOT issue a personalized letter for this purpose.
A standard letter, stating that the Embassy does not issue this statement will be issued, free of charge.
